We welcome you to our Comenius project website. On this website you will find the work being done on the Comenius project titled - If you want to see the beauty of the world, first you have to find it in yourself. Here, special focus is on the work being done at the Maria Reġina College, St. Paul's Bay Primary School.

Our school reflects a changing Malta, and caters for the ever sprawling settlements of St.Paul's Bay, Buġibba, Burmarrad, Xemxija and Qawra. With the influx of foreign people settling in Malta, our school has attracted a marked population of students of a foreign origin. Today the school's population hovers around the eight hundred mark, with around eighty students coming from twenty different countries from all over the world, but mostly Europe and North Africa. In view of all this, our school contains a marked characteristic of cultural, religious and social diversity.

With this perspective in mind, the school management team together with all the staff, are nonetheless determined to provide a pleasant learning environment where the needs of all the students are addressed. This Comenius project is just one more step ahead, in celebrating and learning about diversity. By taking part in this project, our school aims to:
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the diversity of European cultures and its values
  • Help children acquire basic life-skills and competences necessary for their personal development, so that the become active European citizens.
