Our school was a music school until 2000. Then an art section was established. The school has recently moved to a new building. Our school is an active member of Sirvintos community, which organizes annual exhibitions, actions, and takes part in the life of the town. Sirvintos is situated not far from Lithuanian capital Vilnius, but still, the cultural life is quite poor there, so the art school is one of cultural centre in our town. Sirvintos is a small town situated in the eastern region of Lithuania. According to the historical circumstances this region has become bilingual (Lithuanian-Polish). Since the art school is the only one in the district of Sirvintos, pupils with a different historical background come to our school. There are a few children with special needs (coordination and movement disorder, mental disorder) and a few kids at risk of social exclusion.
