Our school is the oldest and the smallest in our city. It was founded 188 years ago. At first it was a girls’ school but it has obviously changed. The school building is grey and in front of it there are trees and flowers. Behind the school there is a big playground. Unfortunately our school is very close to a busy and dangerous street so there is a lot of noise.

We have about 360 students. We put emphasis not only on their educational achievements but also on character building. Our mission is to form a truth – loving, helpful, sensitive, hard – working and peaceful person who is well prepared to face up all the problems of the modern world.

Some of our students come from a region with a high rate of unemployment or a poor socio-cultural background or from a difficult family background. Taking part in the project will be a great chance for them to benefit from equaling educational chances.
