The education in Mioveni has very old traditions which come from the local people’s desires to know, to study and to assimilate a job in order to guarantee their living. This evolution of our town required a new school building for the numerous children. The new school started its activity on October 24th, 1980. In 1992 a new building of “Liviu Rebreanu” school was opened. It has 30 classrooms. On 1st of June 2004 a new and modern gym hall was put into use. Our school chose as its spiritual master a well-known Romanian writer Liviu Rebreanu, who spent the last years of his life at Valea Mare, a place near our town. The pupils are smart and are proud of their Latin origin. They cooperate with their teachers in many projects, participate in a lot of national and international contests and win many prizes. Maybe, one day, you will convince yourselves that the lines of our school slogan are not only simple words: “The self-assertion through education, European perspectives”.
